Good morning Madame/Monsieur
I’m Carlo Pizzuti, a 24 years old civil engineer from Italy.
I graduated just two days ago and yesterday I moved here in Lyon with my girlfriend that is French and is working for Club Med.
Since the first time I came here I felt in love with the city and I would love to start my working life here.
My study path started with a bachelor in Project and Infrastructure Management Engineering during which I had the possibility to study abroad, taking part of a course in Transport Engineering at the University Arts et Métiers ParisTech of Lille in April 2011. My bachelor thesis was the result of 3 months internship at the Department of Solid Dynamics of the University "Federico II" of Naples and it was about mechanical test on soil specimens.
My study experience continued afterwards with a MSc in Structural and Geotechnical Engineer during which I did a one year exchange under the Erasmus project in Lisbon at Instituto Superior Tecnico, the best Civil Engineering school of the country. My MSc thesis was the result of a 5 month internship at the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering of Lisbon (LNEC), one of the biggest civil engineer laboratory of the world. The thesis was about the "New European Technical Rules for the Assessment and Retrofitting of Existing Structures".
These experiences improved my language skills so that today I'm fluent in English and Portuguese (written and spoken).
During my study life I was always trying to make the highest number of new experiences because after all I'm not only an engineer but also a person so I travelled a lot, visiting almost all the countries in EU and 4 continents, I started a B&B in my hometown and other no lucrative projects concerning music and video making.
I love challenges and if they are about something I really like I will give all myself in order to face them.
My level of French is today basic but I’m learning very fast seen that is a latin language and Italian is my mother tongue and I speak fluently Portuguese; that’s why for the moment I’m looking for a job in the construction sector not as an engineer but as a worker. I’m sure I can do great in this field seen that I know the theory behind a construction project.
I hope I will hear from you soon.
Best regards.
Carlo Pizzuti
